Alison Doody

Alison Doody has been an Irish model and actor from 11 November 1996. Her first feature film appearance was a small role on her debut role in the Bond film A View to a Kill. (1985). Later, she portrayed Nazi-sympathising Archaeologist Elsa Schneider (Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade 1989). Siobhan in A Prayer for the Dying, Charlotte in Taffin and Rebecca Flannery Major League II. Doody was first introduced to modeling when she was offered by a professional photographer. This led to an enviable professional career as a model for commercials. Doody was averse to glamour and nude work. This was a principle she carried over to her acting. When she was spotted by the director of casting in a James Bond movie, she took a part in A View to a Kill as Jenny Flex. Doody's name appeared in John Willis Screen World Vol. 12 which features the most promising actors in 1986. 38. Doody was still only aged 18 at the time of her appearance in the Bond role. As of today, she is the youngest Bond girl. A Prayer for the Dying (1997) with Mickey Rourke, also featured a smaller role as IRA Siobhan. Doody played a non-speaking part in the 1987 film adaptation The Secret Garden appearing as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias in his dream. Her first lead role was in an episode from 1988 of the Jim Henson fantasy series The Storyteller in the role of Sapsorrow with John Hurt Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders. She also appeared as Pierce Brosnan on the movie Taffin. Her most recognizable role to date was as Austrian Nazi sympathizer as well as archaeologist Dr. Elsa Schneider opposite Harrison Ford in the 1989 film Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Doody appeared alongside Sean Connery in the film in the role of Indy's father. Doody was a co-star in the year 1991 alongside Jonathan Pryce opposite the British miniseries Selling Hitler, which was inspired by the publication fraud called the Hitler Diaries. Later, she relocated to Hollywood. She starred as Flannery as Flannery in Major League II, opposite Charlie Sheen. After almost a decade away from the stage Doody returned to acting and acted in a tiny role in 2003 British comedy movie The Actors with Michael Caine playing herself in an award ceremony scene. In 2004, Doody starred alongside Patrick Swayze alongside a TV adaptation of King Solomon's Mines. Also, she appeared in Benjamin's Struggle (2005), a pamphlet describing the Holocaust. Doody was in Danny Dyer 2010's The Rapture. Doody appeared on RTE's medical drama The Clinic. The project was later canceled. Pam Jefferson, the character that she played in the comedy series E4's Beaver Falls during its first season, which ran for two years. In 2014, she appeared on We Still Kill the Old Way (2014). In November of 2018, she was awarded by the Almeria Tierra de Cine award and she received the honor of a star on the Almeria Walk of Fame.
