Steve Aoki

Steve Aoki was born on November 30, 1977 in Miami, Florida. American electro house music producer, D.J., and record producer Steve Aoki is his stage name. Music executive. He is the third child of Chizuru and Rocky Aoki's children. His father was a wrestler, who also helped develop the chain of restaurants Benihana. He has two older siblings: sister Kana who is frequently called Grace as her middle name Grace, as well as brother Kevin (owner of Doraku Sushi). The half-sister of his is Devon Aoki, a model and actress. He grew up in Newport Beach, California & graduated from Newport Harbor High School in 1995, where he was a member of the varsity badminton team. He went on to UC Santa Barbara and graduated with two B.A. degrees, one in feminist studies and the other in sociology. He was a student at the college who created records by himself and staged underground performances in his Biko space in the Santa Barbara Student Housing Cooperative. The Pickle Patch became a performance venue when the building was renamed The Pickle Patch. He was active in student activism , and he founded a Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist League section on campus. In his early 20s Dim Mak had founded his own record label which he called Dim Mak in honor of his idol from childhood Bruce Lee. He released I'm In the House in March 2010 as a collaboration with the Zuper Blahq, the alter-ego of will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas. It was ranked the top spot at No. 29 in the U.K. singles chart in its debut week. It was ranked among the top 5 on both the U.K. Indie Chart & U.K. Dance Chart. The song was featured on MTV's Jersey Shore, as well as the feature film Piranha and the trailer for Think Like A Man. Producer and songwriter Lucas Secon confirmed in a interview in May 2010 with HitQuarters that he and Rivers Cuomo had recently worked w/ Aoki on one song. In 2012, Pollstar designated him as the top-grossing dancer in North America from tours. He has worked with many artists like Afrojack and Linkin Park, Afrojack. Linkin Park, Will.i.am. Lil Jon. Blink-182, Laidback Luke. BTS. Louis Tomlinson. Rise Against. Vini Vii & Fall Out Boy. He is famous for remixing artists like Kid Cudi.
