Rachel Anne McAdams
Rachel Anne McAdams was born on the 17th
of November 1978 in London, Ontario, Canada She was the daughter of Sandra Kay
(Gale), an RN and Lance Frederick McAdams, a truck driver and furniture moving.
She is Englishand is Welsh- -, Irish-, and Scottish. Rachel began acting at the
age of thirteen. She was already acting in Shakespearean productions at summer
theater camp. Rachel graduated with honors from York University with a BFA in
Theater. After appearing in Disney's The Famous Jett Jackson episode (1998) and
later, she appeared in Slings and Arrows, a Canadian comedy-drama that
chronicles the struggles and triumphs of the Slings and Arrows Shakespearean
theatre group. In 2003, she won the Gemini award. The role she played in Mean
Girls (2004) Regina George, in Mean Girls (2004) immediately made her a star on
Hollywood's most sought-after young actors. Following the film, she was paired
with Ryan Gosling in The Notebook (2004). It was a smash at the box-office, and
quickly became the leading romantic drama for a new generation of movie lovers.
McAdams and Gosling were in love during filming and continued to date
throughout 2007's middle. McAdams then showed her range onscreen with the manic
comedy Wedding Crashers (2005), the thriller Red Eye (2005), and the holiday
drama The Family Stone (2005).McAdams then began exploring the world of
independent cinema with Married Life (2007), which debuted at Toronto Film
Festival and also included Pierce Brosnan, Chris Cooper and Patricia Clarkson.
The role she played in the war drama The Lucky Ones (2007) and the thriller
about newspapers State of Play (2009) and the romantic The Time Traveler's Wife
(2009) was the next film to follow, and she then starred alongside Robert
Downey Jr. and Jude Law in Guy Ritchie's international blockbuster Sherlock
Holmes (2009). McAdams played the role of the confident producer in Morning
Glory (2010). McAdams also played Owen Wilson's romantic fiancee in Midnight in
Paris (2011). McAdams then returned to romantic drama with The Vow (2012) with
Channing Tatum. McAdams is also in the film with Ben Affleck in Terrence
Malick's To the Wonder (2012) and alongside Noomi Rapace in Brian De Palma's
thriller Passion (2012).In 2005, McAdams received ShoWest's "Supporting
Actress of the Year" Award and the "Breakthrough Actress of the
Year" at the Hollywood Film Awards
