Big Time Rush
Big Time Rush is an American pop-rock
boy band formed in 2009. The group consists of Kendall Schmidt and James Maslow
and also Logan Henderson and Carlos PenaVega. They initially signed with Nick
Records in 2009 before switching to Columbia Records. The group was featured in
Nickelodeon's television series Big Time Rush. From November 28, 2009 through
July 25 2013 the show was on air. The pilot episode featured the group's debut
promo single, "Big Time Rush". The band has released three albums,
including BTR in 2010 and Elevate in 2011, and 24/Seven in 2013. In 2014, the
group was on break for an indefinite time that ran through 2021. They then
returned to live performances and then released "Call It Like I See
It". Nickelodeon signed Big Time Rush a record deal in 2009 as they were
simultaneously airing the tv show Big Time Rush. Nickelodeon later partnered
with Columbia/Epic Label Group in order to produce the series and release music
that was original to the series. The debut single, "Big Time Rush",
appeared on the series on November 29th, 2009. Officially announced by
Nickelodeon in November 2009, the series was broadcast for the first time in
the Americas. The single was then released internationally. It was featured on
a trailer for the series for one hour , and is the show's first tune. Promo
singles like "City is Ours", "Any Kind of Guy" and more
were made available during the course of the series. Big Time Rush also
performed the Play song "Famous" that was written by him. The song
was released on iTunes on June 29 2010. The second track, "Halfway
There", was also released to iTunes after its debut on the show. The band
soon became their first charting track on the Billboard Hot 100. It reached
number 93 thanks to digital sales. On September 21 in 2010, Big Time Rush
released second single "Till I Forget About You" in promotion of the
release of their debut album. The album, titled BTR and released on October 11,
2010. The album debuted at number three on the Billboard 200. It sold 67,000 copies
its first week.
