Will Ferrell
Will Ferrell
was a member of the cast of Saturday Night Live before going into the big
screen to play comedy like 'Elf "Anchorman," and Talladega Nights. In
1967, in Irvine, California, Will Ferrell began his comedy career as part of
the improv troupe based in Los Angeles, the Groundlings. He was an Saturday
Night Live cast member for seven seasons and was a major comedic draw through
off-color successes, including Old School 2003 and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron
Burgundy 2004. Ferrell was also a co-founder of the wildly popular video
streaming site Funny or Die, and enjoyed success as a voiceover actor in
animated films such as Megamind (2010). John William Ferrell was born on July
16 1967 in Irvine, California. The oldest son of Righteous Brothers keyboardist
Lee Ferrell and teacher Kay Ferrell, Will was--by his own admissions--not the
class clown as a student at University High School. He was quiet and studious
but he did choose to play football who set a school record for the most field goals
made. Ferrell showed little of the bizarre, comical behavior that would define
his career and even at the suburban house he lived in. His mother who was
interviewed by Esquire she said that her son was very even-tempered and
easygoing. "You do you know those little Matchbox cars? Will be arranging
his Matchbox cars completely by himself and be completely content. Then you'd
say, "You want to go to Disneyland today?" He would have to think
about it. "That's not to say Ferrell was a total straight-laced man. The
hints of his comic talents was seen every morning at high school, when he
disguised himself to make the daily announcements via the PA system. Ferrell
earned his degree from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles in
1986. He was a member of Delta Tau fraternity, and went on to pursue a degree
in sports journalism.
